Anyone For Tea??

This was the outfit I wore to the recent engagement party of our lovely Stitchin' Bitch, about whom I blogged just a couple of weeks ago.

Themed around Alice in Wonderland, what other hat could I have chosen than this fabulous teacup creation by Evelyn Ellenor Millinery?

With Lisa Enright of Atomic Martini Vintage

I think said hat was falling down somewhat by the time this pic was taken!

After drinking some very special (and strong!!) tea-related cocktails and a couple of rounds of flamingo croquet...well, as Audrey Hepburn once said with a knowing look...'well, you do understand'.

I chose a 50s flocked cotton dress, Lisa wore a 1940s mens suit with a longline vintage pointy bra-as-top underneath, loose collar and cuffs and naturally a top hat.

Out on the croquet lawn, I love this pic and the effect.

In other news- I'll be a little more absent than usual from blogging over the next few weeks. After some illness-induced down time in June & July, suddenly we're all go-go-go again! We have 4 fairs to do in the next 5 weeks, plus we're launching our own brand which I'll show you properly soon (once I have more photos). Not to mention there are Olympics to watch...hoping I'm not the only sport-hating person who suddenly turns into sports nerd when they're on!!!

Love the hat! I'm seeing a new use for one off cup and saucers.....The "old" photo is a hoot. It's funny to think of it being found 30-40 years from now and person who finds it thinking "What decade was this taken?"

How utterly perfect is your dress and the hat is madness it is spot on for such an awesome theme and occasion.

Loving the 'Lympics, too! Been glued to them since the Opening Ceremony, which made me blub! xxx

Sorry to hear you were unwell over the past couple of months. I hope you are feeling better now. You look gorgeous in that dress! And that hat is just stunning. I want a teacup hat now even though I have absolutely no where to wear it :-)

How on earth did I miss seeing this post??? You look super delicious in that outfit. Just gorgeous! I hope the Greazefest fair goes well. I'm a bit sad that I'll miss the next fair at Eagle Farm, but I must remind myself I'll be hunting down vintage treasures in New Zealand instead. Xx
