A Puppy Dogs' Tale, The Law of Things Always Come in Runs, and a Yummy Thai Feast

Rare is the vintage item that makes me come over all nostalgic, but when I saw this pyjama-storing 1960s puppy, below, at the most recent Brisbane Vintage Fashion Fair, I just knew I had to have it, and I didn't know why....it was one of those 'arrgh-MINE!!! moments.

When I told my mother that I'd bought it, she said 'oh yes, you used to have one of those when you were VBs age, and you LOVED IT'. That'll explain it then.

In nearly five years of buying and selling, I've never come across one of these.

I've mentioned before that vintage things come in runs. As insane proof of this, check the two similar pyjama puppies (above and below) I found yesterday. It was an almost unbelievably serendipitous case of saving them from landfill...but that's a whole other story in itself!

Not only did I find two, but they are a matching pair, one pink, one blue, the pink one was holding a little girls diary from 1961, no prizes for guessing who has claimed that as her own!

This weekend was full of fabulous finds, won't show you the two rusty and crustic pair of tin trunks just yet...not to mention a private estate clearance with some retro lamps and suitcases to die for...did I mention the word fabulous?!

Yes, it's puppy love...

To top off a rather frabjous weekend, I cooked up a splendid Thai feast for an old school friend.

yes yes yes, we know all about the fish cakes....

But have you seeeeen my laksa lately?!

Coz it's lookin' gooood!!!!

What have you been up to this weekend?? Tell me!! I'm a bit too full of yummy thai and wine tonight, but I'll be around to visit all you lovelies tomorrow.x.
