Vintage Styling Workshop

For those not in the know, we held our first-ever vintage-for-beginners styling workshop last weekend up at the shop, and it was AWESOME!!

Instigated and organised by Trudie from My Vintage Vow (go follow her blog btw, she's fabulous), I'd have never done it without her, in fact she's already done an excellent post on this with better pics, you can read it here.

I spoke about underwear, effective use of colour, how to recognise 40s and 50s dresses, styled 3 outfits, and my lovely friend Elisse, a specialist in vintage hair and makeup, did 50s hairstyles and makeup.

Talking girdles

Highly professional ways with bulldog clips...
Giving the low-down on the use of colour in the 50s
Good sport Sheri, of sheribomb.com.au, agreed to be styled in two different outfits and have her hair and makeup done, above pic is pre-hairdo.

Winged eyeliner lessons went down a treat

As did pincurls!

Sheri even got to wear my new necklace before me, LOL!
BTW all Sheris ink is by Mimsy Gleeson, you might remember my feature on her a few weeks back.

Vintage & modern accessories...half way through

Second stylee was Miss Pinup Australia 2013 entrant Mimi La Muse, I have to say these pics don't do her beauty (or her outfit) justice. Pity you can't see the back of her legs, she was wearing vintage-style black seamed stockings under the purple whalenets and it looked AWESOME!!

Thanks to all my lovely participants and helpers, hopefully we can do it again soon!

P.S. Dee I have Mad Men season 5, it is awesome!!

I'll bet you're still talking and then remembering the things you forgot to say!! I KNEW 100% the day would be a phenomenal success and I'm so, so happy for you darling!! Jeez I could just wrap my legs around you and bite your sweet arse right now - now that would make me a contortionist. Do you need a contortionist next time? heheeeeeee xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

I should really come to your next one - I'm rubbish at 50s hair and make-up and getting the true period look! You look gorgeous and your dress is divine. Actually, all the clothes are divine. I need the green one, I love green.

So glad it went well for you.
