And as you might imagine, there are quite a few nice pieces that pass through my hands.
I'm usually pretty good about letting things go- I'm not a hoarder and I certainly don't have 'too much stuff'. Even still- I am kiiiind of getting a lamp problem, and I want your opinion!
This 1960s table sits in one corner of my lounge room. My problem is, I have 3 lamps that I love and I don't know which one to put here.
This is better shot of the first one. It has a nice brass plated base and original silk shade. My grandmother gave it to me so there's no way this will get offloaded.
Then there's this atomic 50s plastic ribbon lamp that I showed you here.
I haven't had it long, only a few months, so I'm not ready to get rid of it yet- if ever.
You might remember I just bought this one a few weeks ago- it's still the incumbent. Even though I'm not mad on the shade it matches the room quite well, as I have similarly-coloured curtains and a crystal lamp with a gold shade atop my china cabinet.
So you see my problem? I really love all 3 lamps but I only have space for one. None can go in my bedroom because its all Art Deco (see it here). Which lamp would you use???
OOH nearly forgot, here's my new rug, now in residence on my lounge room floor. It's a 70s shaggy number, just in time for winter, not that we have much of that but as soon as the temp goes under 22 or so I get awfully cold feet.
I'm gradually improving the lounge room, it's still a hodge podge of colours which it will continue to be for a while longer yet. VB was home sick from childcare today and made herself comfortable on the new rug in front of the t.v., apparently it gets the thumbs up from her too.
Enjoy your weekend.xx.

I have a solution just give the 50 atomic one to me ..... only kidding ha ha!
I know what you're talking about I have a lamp problem fortunately I also have financial problems which helps curtail the lamp problem, but I don't recommend it as a solution!
Well done on not being a hoarder, this is exactly why I don't deal in vintage stuff, quite often people who know us ask why we chose non-vintage stuff to start a business in simple I wouldn't have a business I would have a house full of stuff - which incidently I do already eeek!
So cute! Those lamps are so cute! Whereas I like the crazy-base, last one the best, I think the red shade "pops" in that corner. I have a lamp problem too. And like that red one, most of mine are those ENORMOUS affairs with wide, tall lampshades, makin' 'em even harder to place. Good luck!
I think prob the last, but we need pics of your whole lounge room to see what will fit in best. The middle one is too small for the proportions xx
This is why I can't even start to collect lamps. You can only use so many and some have to be cast into the darkness. Oh, did you get a rake to clean the carpet?
I discovered, AFTER buying several small table lamps, that living rooms need BIG lamps. They just look better in bigger rooms, so it *looks* like the red one?
But like others said, which one "fits" best by color and theme as well?
I have one like the second one, and I just can't shake that it looks too "oriental" for MY taste, and the third one looks the most retro... Hmmm lol
Hope kiddo is feeling better soon!
Heck I would not be able to decide either!! They are all gorgeous!
Little VB is just adorable I hope she gets better soon.
I agree with Penny Dreadful - they are all FAB, my fave is the third, but it would be great to see a wider pic of that corner - or the whole room. I have a crazy anodised lamp collection. I try not to but when I see one I just have to have it!!

Love the third one, but the second one would go with my oriental...opium den living room.
Sorry to hear your little girl is poorly she is so pretty bless her. i like all 3 of the lamps but the second one is def to small for the area. Its hard to say which will go best i feel i would need to see all of the room to be able to do that. But you said the bottom one fits in with your lounge colours so maybe opt for that one. Good luck with the choice making and have a lovely weekend, dee x
I'm feeling the love for the last one but agree the shade is a bit how's your father..so to speak. I love the first one but it just feels to tall and skinny compared to the cute pudgey loveliness of the last one. I have a german floor vase problem...ahh. I think we both need bigger houses ha. Hope you have a good weekend, cheers Katherine
Dear Kitty, my favourite is the first one but I think it's because I love the colour and size of the shade.
VB is gorgeous! xx
