Assorted Vintage Pretties

Hello my lovelies!

As usual I've had my eye on lots of goodies lately, sometimes I'm looking to buy, sometimes I'm looking to see what things are worth and sometimes I look at a piece over and over again just because it's so beautiful.

I keep lots of pictures for reference, here are some of my favourites from the last few months.

1920s wool swimsuit with all original bakelite buttons

Bakelite bangle which contains a compact - see below

Most of these items were out of my price range on any level, but isn't it nice to sometimes window-shop just for the sake of learning and inspiration?

I'm determined to get one of these big 50s American lamps one day!

Taxidermy purse with the body of a frog...let's all say it together now, EWWW!

Blue monkey fur coat, apparently very rare.

Such gorgeous colours, I know not all my readers like or approve of fur but I love it and wear it as much as I can.

Spectacular lucite box purse with inset flowers to the domed lid.

Fantastic Art Deco lamp base, etched satin glass. One day...!

Huge collection of midcentury Arabia finel enamelware.

Tiger print fur bag with lucite handles and frame, an excellent-ly fun piece.
Art Deco mirror with piecrust edges and little shelf. I'm dying to get one of these but I don't know where I'd put it.

Yet another lamp, it doesn't look too flash like this but look below, when it's lit up.

How cool is that!

My favourite items have to be the Art Deco lamp base and the Art Deco mirror with shelf.

I like the look of the fur on that coat but I would much prefer to see it on a monkey instead!

The Taxidermy purse is so bizarre! Just look at the poor dead sleeping frog head :( It still looks wet!

That bakelite bangle is the most gorgeous thing ever, I absolutely love it. I'm also lusting after the Deco shelf and that colourful enamelware.
The frog is mad and I loved the monkey jacket until I realised it was real (I was mugged by a monkey in Bali, it was a vicious creature but I still wouldn't want to nick it's coat). xxx

I'm not sure what I love more - the 1920's bathing suit, the Art Deco lamp, OR that outstanding bangle!

Holy crap Aladdin, you've been rifling through Ali Babar's cave haven't you? I think we need to buy the compact bracelet between us and share it for six months each per year. I lurve the lamps, esp. the Triffid-like 50s one! The purse looks like a cane toad!! Cant you imagine swimming in the wool suit? !!! Thanks so much for sharing these gorgeous treasures - now I need to plan a trip to your shop! xoxo

That lucite bag is incredible! They called it the 'coffin purse'. I actually have the matching shoes. Clear lucite wedges with the same flowers encased in the wedge. Awesome!

Love the Arabia Finel collection. I picked up a yellow coffee pot in MM condition from the local Vinnies (before they corprotised) for $3
