Hands Up Who Loves Vintage Wicker!

I'm mad on vintage wicker!

We don't get much of it round these parts, so when I do find it, it's all the more exciting.

Below, one of my recent handbag purchases.

I'd love to keep it, but no, I have to be good, it's going in the shop.

BTW, have you noticed my new sidebar thingy, Champagne of the Day?? It's there to encourage you all to become massive drinkers. No, not really, but if that's the way you take it you can go away right now. It's there because, well, it's just the thing to drink while shopping for vintage, isn't it?

And speaking of shopping, I've not long bought this fab red wicker bag too.

Quite unusual that it has a wooden handle and frame.

Oh, and remember this wicker sewing basket I showed you a while ago?

I've decided to not only keep it but to use it as intended. With the continual mending I need to do, I had to expand my sewingstuff storage.

As you can see it was quite disgusting when I got it! Now that I have a bit more time I'm getting around to little 'personal' projects like cleaning and fixing up things I've bought for myself.

Et voila, the almost-finished and clean product! Now I just have to figure out what to do with my old wicker sewing box....

Ha ha you are so cute!!!

Used to see these by the dozen in the thrift stores around here a decade or two ago. Ahh if we knew then what we know now, I would have bought a lot more things back then!
