Freakin' Frockin' Friday

Ooh, I've been away-have you missed me?? LOL!

I haven't really been away, just busy with the usual stuff, mostly getting ready for our big vintage fashion fair next week.

Oh, and being continually out on the hunt for another small ton of vintage treasure, of course.

This is another of the fab maxis Sue bought a few weeks ago...I squeezed into it for your benefit but really it's a bit too small, so it's up at the shop, already for sale, for anyone who is willing and able to check it out in person.

Because, you know, how can a Friday nights vintage outfit NOT include lurex, platforms, and bell sleeves??

The not-quite-boob-shot

I'll be back soon with lots more new treasures to show you..we've found some amazing stuff this past couple of weeks.

Thought of the day; anyone who uses the word 'wenches', is a person I like. I wonder if you feel the same way?

Frock Friday- Barefoot Essential

Ahh, finally a chance to show you my new shawl, pure wool and snapped up for the princely sum of ten cents.

I think this gypsy-style 70s lace dress had been in my mending pile forever, so I finally finished it....what do you think??

I had shoes lined up to wear with it, but once I had the dress on (and given our 35-plus daytime temps), this combo  just screamed barefoot at me.

'Coz you all know I like the swishys, right?

Scrabble ring- gift from Nelly

This pic is just for La Dama, our mama prosti, this is my rolled fringe without rat, pins or hairspray.

Sunnies- gift from Vix

How many times have I been asked for a genuine vintage black velvet and rhinestone choker?? Sorry gals, this one's mine, snapped up at a vintage fashion fair last year. But I'll let you have the next one I find.

When will people learn that vintage fairs are where it's at for some seriously smart vintage shopping??

Yes, girls....I WILL CONVERT YOU!!!

Stacks of Maxis...New to the Shop This Week

But it's not only maxis...no no no!!!

We have all sorts of newies, from the 30s to the 80s.

All sorts of styles too, but I have to say that if georgette takes your fancy, you're in luck, there's tons to choose from!!

From short to long, from daywear to cocktail to evening, from pastel to retro loud, from size 6 to 16, we've got it all.

Hard to go wrong with red polka dots!!

This fab striped maxi is by famed Aussie label Silver Star.

I'm loving the print on this one!! Lucky (?) it doesn't fit me or I'd be keeping it, I think our Vix would look awesome in this.

And Nelly, here's some better shots for you...but sorry, I think Sue and I are keeping this one for our own special collection.

Are the sleeves the stuff of dreams or what?!

If you follow us on Facebook, you'll have seen some of these already...yes girls, we're aiming for world-maxi-domination, LOL!!

So have you picked a favourite yet??

Tough though, isn't it?? Tough for me too, I have the 'tough' job of sorting through them all and deciding which ones to keep, ha ha.

Simple Dress, Easy Glam

Need quick and easy glam??

Take one fabulous sparkly maxi, simple accessories, an easy up-do, and you're done.

Is it any wonder we love maxis so much?! They just about do all the work for you.

Have to show you my latest jewellery treasure too, a Deco Czech multicoloured rhinestone bangle, yum.

Considering the totally rotten wet weather we've had this week, sparkles are definitely in order, too.

I'm sick of having wet feet, a damp house, a bogged van, and a pile of maxis begging to be washed. I'm over it!!

I can't believe I'm saying this, but bring back the sun...please??

Frock Friday- Maxi Power

What a truckload of maxis we have bought this week!! Not to mention vintage nighties, day dresses, 60s, 70s and 80s dresses.

I think Nelly would fall over and faint if she saw how many angel-sleeved maxis we now have...I know I nearly did.

And Sue did her first-ever clothing buy-woo hoo!!

I don't think I can quite explain how well she did...you'll just have to wait and see, as I'll be showing you the maxi-mum heavenlies she came home with over the next few weeks.

You can also keep up with our latest by liking our Facebook page, I'll be adding photos every day over the next week.

On another note, I'm currently unable to comment on blogs with embedded comments. So, Nelly, Coedith, Heidi, Miss Claire, Mel Coconut, and others, please know that I'm not ignoring you :)

These Are A Few of My Favourite Things....

There are always so many gorgeous things on ebay, aren't there?!

It's probably a good thing that none of us are wealthy, or we may never be able to stop buying beautiful vintage treasures. And then we'd have to have houses the size of castles to fit it all in...but I digress!

Here are a few choice pieces I've had my eye on lately.

70s statement necklace.

Fabulous gooseneck lamp with fibreglass shades
I'm not usually one for old radios much but there's no way I'd turn this catalin beauty down!

You all know I'm partial to bangles!

Deco carved celluloid dance purse
22k gold and diamond snake bracelet, only $3500 (just in case any of you are rich!)

Deco decanter set, German, by Karl Palda

Deco Egyptian revival bakelite cigarette case

I now regret not buying this stunning 50s lamp :(
Beautiful platforms...which would have been mine if they'd have fit.

1936 Houze glass lamp

I don't know what I'd ever do with something like this...but I love it regardless! 1940s glass taxi roof sign, yes, actually from an old taxi.

50s standard lamp...*big sigh*

More stunning light fittings! I'm rather big on lighting lately, it seems.

Yellow catalin desk set.

Ok that's enough for now, give your keyboards time to recover from the drool splashes please!
