As you all know I've been recovering from my dental surgery this past week and a half, so I've had plenty of time (although little inclination!) to do some online browsing.
Here are a few lovelies I've had my eyes on this week.
a girl can never have too many pairs of vintage sunnies, and I definitely need more!
50s snack tray which is also a lazy susan
50s/60s chest of drawers, more often we see the sideboards and wall units, less so the bedroom furniture in this style
Yellow, grey and pink were huge in 50s kitchens, and this ceramic biscuit barrell must have been right on-trend
As were the ever-popular Nally Ware canisters
But if you're more for the 60s, how could you go past this super psychedelic tray? 'Specially if you knew it's made from fabric-covered fibreglass
Anyone who admires Vix's wall of misery will love these big-eyed child prints, I have 2 similar but am always on the lookout for more.
For those who know that green is a neutral colour (come on, hands up now!), how's this bakelite bracelet? It's been made recently from vintage pieces but if you didn't know you wouldn't know...if you know what I mean.
Aah, beautiful bakelite, what more can I say, you know what I'm like with this stuff, this has to be one of the nicest trinket boxes I've yet seen.
I've wanted one of these bakelite musical cigarette dispensers for ages-one day I'll get one. Twist one of the knobs on the front and out pops a drawer with cigs inside-awesome!
Original old garden swan (?), looking pretty crusty and rustic but it could be fixed up, nice to see an original one amongst all the plastic repro.
German lava vase, such a classic collectable, this one stands out amongst the orange crowd for me with the stripey effect.
Anodised cup set in it's own small table, a must for any serious retro collector.
60s carousel wig box, you can't tell from the pic but this one had 2 original wigs inside, how cool is that!
And last but not least, this 50s Italian cup and kidney-shaped saucer set. I'm quite tempted by this myself as it would fit well with my black stuff...but no, I'll let you all have a go :)

Ah the wish I had game, I play it all the time! So many beautiful things, so little cash :o)
Ooh both of those glasses, the yellow Nally ware, the psychedelic tray, the trinket box and the anodised set all have my name on! Vix would especially love the little boy as he is not only a big-eyed-misery but he also has a poodle.
Great selection, Kitty. How is your recovery?
Sarah xxx
I adore the sunnies. You are right I never have enough LOL.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
*SCREAAAAAAM*
Too much amazing stuff overload!!
My faves of yours are:
- 50s snack tray
- Ceramic biscuit barrel
- Nally Canisters
- Bakelite trinket box
- Original garden swan
- Anodised cup set
- Twiggy wig box (I always look these up. I want one too!! *LOL*)
I hope we will be seeing you on FOF this week. Hopefully you are recovering well.
I LOVE the first sunnies. I have a pair of cat's eyes specs that I want to get shaded lens for, for the summer time. I think I will do that today.Do you have any tips on cleaning the frames?
i love absolutely all of these! my collection of vintage sunglasses is pretty big, but i'm always collecting more, even in winter!
xoxo.
Great gear, I had a flamingo, original gooky cement chap, for ages and sold him recently at the garden centre, seeing that chap makes me wonder why, ah well. Glad you are on the mend. I can totally see you in those sunnies, LOVE the second pair. xx
Kitty,
I love bake lite bracelet, how exquisite.
I am now looking for bake lite on ebay.
Yellow cannisters and miserable kids frane are right up vix's alley.
Loving that green bracelet and even tho I dont smoke that dispenser is pretty amazing.
An evil-looking little boy with a poodle? That's something the Wall of Misery is sorely lacking!
I'll take that fabulous wig box and the psychedelic tea tray, too.
How's the mouth feeling? xxx
If you and I went shopping together we would be tripping each other to get to the goods...hehe.
I love everything that yellow biscuit jar really stands out!
I've been scouring greedbay, but not finding much! So little in fact, I'm about to do a post on a vintage trivet I bought. A trivet, that thing you set a hot pan on. That's bad!
Wish i could find some goodies. :(
My hand is up coz we both know that green is a neutral colour and I'm having a coughing fit over that glorious bakelite bracelet!!!! How about the ciggie dispenser? What an amazing idea!! xoxo
How did I miss this post? Love every piece but those sunglasses? DIVINE.
