New to The Shop This Week- THE KITSCH ARMY!!!

As soon as I think about our 'kitsch army', that has in fact been marching into the shop for the past two weeks, I can't stop thinking of that old marching song one hears in movies, but with different words....

When kitsch comes marching home again
Hurrah, hurrah

the kitsch is in the shop again
Hurrah, hurrah

we'll make new shelves up on the wall
the animals they will all stand tall...

You get the idea! Anyway, we bought a small estate lot a few weeks ago, contained within was the BIGGEST collection of kitsch I've yet seen in one place. Tons and tons of animal figurines, planters, vases, salt and peppers, you name, we've got it!

Who knows what this is?

Nearly every single piece is signed Made in Japan or Germany, so dates from either the 50s or 60s.

Every single piece is in immaculate condition, very impressive considering that everything had been sitting unwrapped under an old house (i.e. exposed to the elements) for some thirteen years.

Heaps of cute little vases like this one above, and below

Those of you who follow us on Facebook (if you don't, why not?!) will have seen a few of these already, this Scottie dog with his vase backpack and pen holder is such a cutie!

We've more birds than you can poke the proverbial stick at...

there are birds on plates, bird figurines, bird vases....

...and bird wall pockets!

Stunning set of decorative wall hanging plates

So many kitsch fish I don't know where to put them all!

I hope you're all having a good week, see you on Friday with a new frock.xx.

My Grandma used to have a big fish like that by the kitchen sink with a scouring pad in his mouth when I was small.
Is that little girl with the holey dress for a tea light? x
