New in the Shop This Week

We've been busy little bees this week, with lots of buying happening and some great new items arriving in store.

Even though we specialise in Art Deco and retro, we always seem to have a wide variety and something to suit everyones taste.

This 1950s armchair was my furniture project last week, its now fully restored and looking fabulous.

Bar one mark on the seat its now in excellent condition.
I love that the upholsterey is all original, I only had to clean it and refinish the arms and legs.

Of course being the 50s fan that I am, I love this anodised 'space-age' lamp.

The shaft sits at an angle to the base and to the shade.

The little stars let the light through, so this lamp would look awesome next to a wall in a dark room as it would show it off so well.

And of course Dolly looks her usual smokin' self! This week she's wearing a truly beautiful hand-finished 60s silk dress.

Look at the beautiful pockets! The ends of the belt have the same detailing
Her red felt hat is trimmed with ostrich feathers, the pink rhinestone brooch decoration is a later addition but it goes with the dress so well!

Just next to Dolly, a fluffy-seated vintage bedroom stool, and on top, our latest favourite, a 1920s seal fur top hat with its original box. How cool is the pink box! The hat sits in it upside down so as to preserve the fur and keep any dust off.

Stunning Art Deco octagonal table, an ideal centrepiece to a room or even in a corner.
In fabulous condition too, just imagine it with a big crystal vase of lilies on top or a showpiece Art Deco lamp. A great statement piece for the Art Deco home.

Art Deco Pierrot style numbered bookends

Aren't they gorgeous!

The deco table and 50s chair are amazing. The problem with vintage home decorating is deciding which era to go with, you can't change around every day like with clothes! I can never decide whether to go for 50s atomic or 30s deco or 40s shabby chic. It just ends up being a big jumble! xx

Ranchie, I thought you'd have liked the 50s chair too>?

Marg, that's exactly what I always battle with too! I've decided to do each room differently, that way I can have everything, ha ha!

Fabulous stuff, darling! I really, really love the boudoir chair by Dolly. It's so gorgeous.
You've just reminded me of the top hat I inherited from my Great-grandfather. I must retrieve it from dad's attic and get it out on display. xxx
PS Rum and coke must have been a subliminal message from you. There's a glass of it by my elbow now.

Ooh that chair is FABULOUS. I have a very similar 50 anodised lamp. It's red and has 'TV TV TV' cut out around the end of the space ship shaped top. Also love the gorgeous detailing on the pocket of the frock.
