40s & 50s Vintage Hats

Well I'm still sweating in the name of vintage! Today was another scorcher but we're supposed to have sub-30-degree temps finally this weekend, joy!

I finished off all the hats today, so here are a few that are coming along to the fair.

60s felt and velvet cloche

 

50s mink and velvet cocktail hat

 

Just look at the gorgeous shot velvet fabric

 

another 50s hat, this seems to be a popular style at the moment

Plus it's hard to go wrong with polka dots, everyone loves 'em

I'm loving this 40s number

 

 Its just screaming for 40s hair, isn't it?

Look how much work has gone into it!

 

40s astrakhan topper, it looks much bigger than it really is here, as this manny head is super-small

It even comes with 2 astrakhan-topped pins

 

Again I love this one! A 40s (I think) purple velvet

The rhinestone brooch is original and sewn on

 

A bit hard to show the great shape on this one but it would suit a 40s hairstyle so well

 

Not sure if this one is 30s or 40s, sometimes it's so hard to tell with hats 

If you're crafty this would be a great way to use up some bits and pieces

Such a beautiful piece to touch, that maroon fabric in there is silk velvet

 

Yet another 50s little hat

Check out the felt bows all around the top. I just know someone is going to love this!

 

Hows this for size! Again it looks bigger here than it is on a persons head, but nevertheless it's definitely a statement piece!

Yes another 50s hat! This time in off-white velour, with some of the most funky little baubles I've seen yet
