The *Best* and *Worst* Road Trip Ever

The title sums it up really.

The best...because I bought the largest amount of  30s, 40s and 50s clothing I've ever had. Joy!

In fact I was so excited when I got home I had to whip it out straight away and start washing and soaking it all. I am probably completely sad. He he.

And the worst? My van, my beautiful van, yes, the one that I only bought 6 months ago, the one I saved up for a year for, the one that I love so much that took me 8 months to find, broke down a beauty and died a permanent death. Woe!

Naturally this happened on a lonely country road, and it took us (me and VB) a couple of days to get things sorted and get home.

On a brighter note, I'll leave you with a few snippety glimpses of what I bought...

I can't show them properly yet (they're not even dry)...
But in sad times sometimes it's nice to look at a bit of whimsy...

And really, should I be so sad?

There are so many people all over the world having seriously tough times at the moment....

with flooding, earthquakes, and tsunamis, I am always served well by reminding myself to be grateful for what I have and not to cry over spilt milk. Or in this case, spilt coolant....

Nothing worse than breaking down in remote places!!

Glad you had a good haul, though! =)

Oh Kitty, that must be so hard for you when you worked and saved for so long... what a stoic attitude you have about it though and a very good reminder for us all to have perspective and remember what's really important.

Sad about your van... Excited about your treasures!

So sorry to hear about your van. The glimpses are very intriguing, though.

What a bloody shame, that van looked tidy. Your attitude is brilliant and those tantalising peeks at your finds look fantastic. xxx

Bloody cars and vans, hate em, more trouble than they're worth, grumble grumble.... So sorry to hear about the van, what a pain in the butt, still as you point out perspective and all that.

Sounds like a fabulous haul, can't wait to see!
