New To The Shop This Week, and G & G!!!

So much to tell you and show you I hardly know where to start.

If you don't already know, this coming weekend Tamborine Mountain hosts the 4-day-long Garterbelts and Gasoline festival, a celebration of rockabilly, pinup, vintage, kustom kulture, cars, caravans...all that awesome stuff. See the website here for more info.

As we're doing two fashion parades on Friday night, we're the major stop on Miss Chrissys vintage shopping tour, we're doing a huge hat & accessory stall all through the Friday night ball, not to mention being chosen by visiting pinup photographer Mitzi Valenzuela as her preferred location for all the shoots she'll be doing while she's here...in a word we expect to be busy!

We've been stashing away quite a few fabulous items specially for this event, over the past couple of weeks they've made their way into the shop, I have to say my favourite is this 1950s 3-piece furniture set. There's a matching vitrolite coffee table which you can't see in this pic, natural light ruins the pic I think but still you get the idea. BTW am I the only one obsessed with room dividers?? No prizes for guessing where this one will be going if it doesn't sell, LOL.

Cute retro clock

Lots of sparkly vintage rhinestones

Here's a closer look at the weeny pinup thimble, how cute is it?!

Red white and blue wicker box purse

Tiny portable HMV record player, and yes it totally works. Check the felted 'platterack' (as they are embossed) next to it, we have 3 of these in stock.

I don't think I need to explain this cuteness!!

Denby 'Arabesque' coffee set

And 'the masterpiece', ha ha, as I'm calling it, is this maple 'floater' coffee table. Katherine might remember this one from ages ago.

This was the first full refinish I did last year, not a good choice in hindsight as it has so many curves and grooves it took a ridiculous amount of time to do. BUT! I'm thrilled with the result, and we've had this baby hidden away for ages so it's nice to finally bring it out.

Tea/drinks trolley with more retro cup sets and another Art Deco carpet.

I love the beaten copper surface on the top tray.

I'm planning to take lots of photos this weekend to share with you all, hopefully I might even keep up with the blogging too. The cars and the fashions that we saw last year were just so amazing I'm determined to see and do a bit more than last year. To that end I'm staying on the mountain all weekend, it'll be lots of work but never mind, I have to say I love my job :)

What fun, wish I could pop over and play!
That HMV record player is just gorgeous and I'm with you on those gingham mules, super cute!
My parents had that Arabesque coffee set for their wedding in 1966, it's still in pristine condition.
Can't to see some pictures of the Garterbelts and Gasolene festival. Good luck, babe! xxxx
