Hi-Fallutin Rockabilly/Vintage/Swing Fundraiser Dinner Dance

With Lisa from Atomic Martini Vintage

Gowns! Tiaras! Vintage! Live music! Swing DJ! Food! Fabulousness!

What am I talking about??

The Hi-fallutin Rockabilly Fundraiser Dinner Dance, of course!!

The brainchild of the fabulous Vicki Martin, (you can read her blogs here and here), this was an awesome fundraising event for BeyondBlue, Australias national charity for depression, mental illness and anxiety disorders.

My fab pal Lisa, who owns Atomic Martini Vintage here in Brisbane, did a fab fashion parade, here she is 'backstage', playing with boys of course, LOL!

In her not-very-spare time, Lisa is also a professional vintage stylist and personal shopper, just the kind of gal any vintage enthusiast loves to have around. You can see her website Vintage Being here.

Lots of people donated their time, equipment, skills and raffle prizes, incuding local rockabilly band West Texas Crude. It was truly heartwarming to see so much generosity going on, and all for a cause that is so often overlooked, misunderstood, feared and ignored.

Lots of vintage finery was on show too! Over 350 people attended in all.

People really got into the dancing too, great to see them having fun no matter what their age.

The free photobooth went down a treat, there was a queue for it all night, and as you can see, I was well up for it. As I was *not* the designated driver, I was making the most of everything!

Over $8000 was raised in less than 5 hours for a truly wonderful cause...those of you who know me well know it's one that is close to my heart.

What a great reason for a fabulous night out.x.
