Frock on Friday

A customer in the shop asked me yesterday, 'what is your favourite era of vintage?....what's your style?'
And I had to tell her, 'well....it's all my style. I like them all!'

Here's one of my favourite 70s maxis, it's a lightweight stretch poly, way too hot for summer of course but fine for a nice winter day like today was.

Close-up for the print nerds

Worn with Pucci platforms

....a ton of bangles

and my new 'everyday' ring

See, how can you not love the 70s?!

I also changed into this outfit to do some pics for you, this was my 'shopgirl outfit' on Thursday.

Vix sent me this fab cardi a while ago and I haven't had anything to wear it with until this last weekend.

I went to my local flea market and found this knit dress for a dollar. While Brisbane may not have much of a winter, Tamborine certainly does, and layers are a requisite! You can't see them much here but I also bought these Doc shoes for $4, an awesome bargain if you ask me, and just the basic pair of black winter shoes I'd been looking for.

Score! What bargains have you found this week?

You look beautious as usual, just gorgeous!
I must say, it's over 100 degrees here for the 28th day and the thought of long sleeves makes me want to faint!! lol- I always forget it's opposite over there!

Love that dress and the way you wear it. But am panting for those green shoes! My absolute favourite fashion era is the 1940s from wartime and onwards to Christian Dior's New Look which influenced the next decade that saw me into my early teens.

Thank you for your comment on my 'balloon' post. I wanted to deny the darkness but today it was dismal grey all day. Some summer! But since your remark about the anti-ageing effect I've been pondering the pros and cons of sunshine. Perhaps 30 years under grey skies to preserve your beautiful skin then full on sunshine to the end of one's days to enjoy the beautiful life. Mmmmm. Both my girls have opted for that by moving to Australia!

I am really liking the dress (The green flowers are sssooo pretty)and ALL of your bangles. I have a small collection of bangles and keep searching high and low for more at sales and thrifts.. I am not having much luck.

The platforms look sexy!
And your everyday rings is a beaut! I swear you are trying to taunt me with all these green lovelies!

The cardi from Vix is fabulous! I am so clumbsy I would probably get myself tangles in it. heheeh

100F here too, zoot. How fun to be able to travel to winter in the middle of summer lol.

Lovely as always. The more I see my blogger friends appreciating 70's style, the more I am appreciating it myself. :)

Oh and I just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful comments on my site and the help and advice on setting up a table display for arts and craft shows! Thank you so very much Kitty!!! Peacock theme would be stunning! I did find some fabric in a coral pink color that matches the pink in the faces i paint. But not sure what to do for props with that color. Any ideas would be wonderful!! Thank you so very much for these great ideas. I need to find smaller tables too!

I also posted my first free giveaway today too!!!

Thank you again for everything.. Have a wonderful summer!

I love it all too. Most era's lend themselves nicely to another one anyway, I have some fab dresses that are actually 80's but look 50's and 40's and I wear and style them to enhance that. Love that maxi dress in the top picture.
