Mad Hattery

We've lots of new vintage hats in store this week.

Regular readers know I'm pretty much obsessed with hats and can't resist showing them off, so here are a few more I think you'll like too.
This is an unusual one, (I often say that to you, I know, but unusual is what I go for), a soft knitted peaked hat with a firm wire brim, 1940s, by Marshall Field.

Darling little 20s/30s hat with mink trim

Whether our customers are shopping for a costume for a party or they are a vintage lover looking for everyday wear, most find the 20s flapper look appealing, and love to complete their outfit with a saucy little hat like this one.

Mink always adds such a touch of luxury...hmm, I think I can see Desiree in this one!

For stunning style I can't go past this one, I don't think any more words are necessary!
On the topic of spectacular hats, you might remember this fabulous 1920s beaver top hat we had a little while ago.

The gentleman who bought it told Sue he intended to wear it to the Prime Ministers Cup race day on the Gold Coast, and enter the Fashions on the Field (best dressed) competition.

Apparently he had won previously, and felt sure he'd win again with such a fabulous hat.

Fashions on the Field winners, the lady on the left won best dressed lady, our 'top man' is in the middle, yes of course he won, the lady on the right won best ladies hat.

I'd love to see hats make a massive come back, for boys ad girls. Classy. Love last picture, it's a great photo. x

Awesome hats! It seems people are getting back into them, and I'm glad. My Mom used to wear hats, and I think all ladies in the '4o's did. What I really love is when men wear them!

That man in his top hat looks so smart, I'm not surprised he's got that massive grin on his face with those two gorgeous ladies on his arm. xxx
