As I mentioned yesterday, there's a lot of what we call 'dead stuff' in this place, so look away NOW if you're not into it!
This is the bar, looking out to the verandah. A lovely glass kero lamp and an Art Deco green depression glass sherry (?) set live atop the table.
You can see it better in this pic (taken for a trial setup for a fair). It features an actual lion cub head (which died naturally btw). The leopard skin was borrowed from Sues lounge room, you'll see it below.
A more distant shot of the kitchen collection I showed you yesterday. How gorgeous is the burl kitchen table?!
A bit of a dark house, we had to take this with the flash so the colours are 'off' in this one. Cowhide-covered chair seats.
Second (open-plan) bedroom. Note the matching glass kero lamp on the dresser, armadillo and croc skin handbags, selection of anitque walking canes in the background, leopard (yes, real, there is nothing fake or repro in this house!) along the couch and full fur (I'm not sure which) pillowcases and bedspread.
Long shot of the lounge, and another fabulous burl table. If you haven't realised by now, Sue and her man have been major fur/skin/taxidermy collectors for many years.
The table features an inlaid croc head and has an antique taxidermy tortoise residing on top. Pity I can't show you the walls and a-frame ceiling, as there are heaps more skins and taxidermy pieces on display.
Main bedroom...more dead stuff! And yep, she really does keep the house this neat and tidy all the time.
And last but of couse not least, the loo, complete with inlaid stones on the floor, antique cream can, convict chains, and faux but very real-looking redback spider.
I'll be off the radar again for the next few days, we're hoping to get the shop completed by Wednesday, yay! Then I can show you what all our hard work has achieved.
